Villa Sogni D’Oro is located one mile from the town’s Grand Piazza, and is ideally located for day trips to Cortona, Rome, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Umbria, and the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Val d’Orcia. Montepulciano, famed for its “Vino Nobile,” is a charming town filled with shops, fantastic restaurants, and most importantly, an authentic Tuscan experience.
Along with being the home of one of the world’s most famous red wines, Montepulciano is also one of the best spots in Italy for an afternoon drive, or for a hike to a nearby village and a lazy, wine-filled lunch. The long winding, Cyprus-lined roads, past rolling green hills being grazed by the famous Chianese Bulls, and golden fields dotted with sunflowers, all interrupted by the occasional mist-shrouded castle. It’s the side of Tuscany everyone loves most—and one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Historical Tours
Piazza Grande is dominated by the beautiful tower and the Gothic-façade of the Palazzo Comunale. Opposite the town hall is the Cathedral, dating to the end of the 1500s. But despite its indisputable beauty, Montepulciano is best known internationally for its Vino Nobile, considered one of the top Tuscan wines in the world, made with grapes coming from vineyards surrounding the village.
Returning to the town, just under the medieval walls, you can admire the beautiful temple of the Madonna di San Biagio. The travertine used to construct the building at the beginning of the 16th century can be seen far off amongst the greenery of the countryside, offering the best welcome for anyone who decides to spend an afternoon strolling through these streets or soaking in the hot sulfurous waters at the nearby Thermal Spa.
